At DOSE Initiative, we see a gap: most people aren’t connected to the grassroots leaders driving real change in online safety. This resource was built to bridge that gap, spotlighting the work happening on the ground and offering practical ways for anyone to get involved. We believe systemic change only happens when communities mobilize together. By supporting grassroots efforts, we can build a future where everyone can thrive online without fear of exploitation, harassment, or discrimination.
In partnership with Mira Costa High School’s Social Justice Club, DOSE Initiative co-created an educational resource on Non-Consensual Intimate Imagery (NCII) and AI-generated NCII. Shared with all 2,500+ Mira Costa students, the resource defines NCII, provides mental health supports, and explains the TAKE IT DOWN Act. This project reflects our commitment to raising awareness of digital harms and equipping young people with the tools to thrive safely online.
DOSE Initiative partnered with Family Online Safety Institute (FOSI) to contribute to their Digital Parenting Program with this resource, written by our Founder, Mona. The piece highlights both the benefits and risks of young people’s digital lives, and provides practical tools for parents, caregivers, schools, and policymakers to foster open dialogue and center youth voices in online safety efforts.
